Current Projects: We continue to accept donations of beds, dressers, and furniture. In addition, shoes, clothing, toys, ect. are needed. We are looking for free items that people are willing to donate.* 1. This Spring we were blessed to receive a donation of over 50 boxes of food and 20 boxes of clothing. A couple dozen families came and were able to take enough to meet their needs and also share with families in their neighborhoods. 2. In October we began “phase 1” of our kitchen remodeling project for a single Mother in the community who has a physically challenged daughter. The management team at the local Lowes store wanted to get involved and gave large discounts’ on supplies needed for the project. We are still actively seeking donations to finish the remodeling project for this well deserving family. We are hoping to raise the remaining $500 that is needed for the materials. 3. This fall we donated household items and clothing to the American Cancer Society for a community wide garage sale they were having as a fundraiser. 4. In December we were made aware of a family who had no income due to being unemployed. One family member had ongoing physical problems and was in need of medications. We were able to assist the family during this crisis period they were facing. 5. Throughout the year as donations were given to the SON Foundation we were then able to distribute those items to surrounding communities as well as people who live in impoverished countries around the world. * If donating used items we ask that they be at least in good or fair condition. If you can help us with any of these items on the list or with costs associated with this project, please contact us at:
